The show is live from Glasgow and celebrates the New Year in grand style with a fantastic lineup of music aswell as coverage of the amazing fireworks display that takes place at midnight in the skies above Edinburgh Castle. The musical start to the year features a great mix of modern and traditional, with a very Scottish flavour - including pipers, fiddlers and some fantastic singers performing traditional and modern material and even a bit of both. As well as some great musicians, the show will be reaching out across Scotland to sample parties further afield. Jackie Bird hosts this year's showcase of Scottish musical talent. Phil Cunningham is in the driving seat with his long-term musical partner - Shetland fiddle legend Aly Bain. They are joined by youngup-and-coming indie folk band Admiral Fallow as well as the fabulous traditional band Breabach. Plus, singer-songwriters Rab Noakes and Emma Pollock lead a musical tribute to Gerry Rafferty. The House of Edgar Shotts and Dykehead Pipe Band will pipe in the new year accompanied by our amazing Hogmanay Live house band.
