PC Jo Gillespie is distraught when her husband, Ryan, is found shot dead in an industrial warehouse. When she learns that he was killed while working undercover, Jo questions how well she really knew her husband. Dismayed by her fellow officers' inattention to the case, she sets out to find the murderer on her own.

With the chief suspect in custody, it seems that the case has been closed, but Jo remains skeptical. When she meets Ryan's former boss at the funeral, her misgivings appear justified. Jo digs deeper into her husband's past as more of Ryan's secrets come to light.

Still reeling from her discovery, Jo shifts her focus from the investigation to caring for her family. But when the body of a 17-year-old girl turns up with a possible connection to Ryan's death, Jo can't shake her need to learn the truth.
