One of the most popular cars of the Muscle car era... the Mercury Cougar... has been one of the most overlooked cars in recent decades. Today on GEARZ all of that changes as Stacey rolls in a solid '67 Cougar... dubs it the "V8 Interceptor"... and begins to completely change the front suspension to get rid of the stock shock towers and turn this little old lady's car into a corner-carving, road-gripping beast. But wait!... you can't cut out the shock towers can you!?! Yes you can!...

Today on GEARZ, Stacey takes a look at one of the most incredible engines that Ford ever built, the boss 429. But instead of leaving you WISHING you could have one, he shows you where you can actually GET one... the legendary Jon Kaase. After that he rolls the V8 Interceptor, Cougar back into the shop and gives you 780 reasons why this car is called the Interceptor. With all that new-found room under the hood. Seems like you can't go more than a block theses days without running into someone whose had some work done on their face. Well, here at the GearZ garage, Stacey believes in facelifts too. Just to prove it, he's taken on a 1981 Camaro and sharpened his scalpel to perform an automotive nose job. Just wait till you see him whack of the old rubber nose and replace it with a 71' rally sport front end! Now that's what we call a facelift. They say that true change comes from within… Well, this week Stacey turns his attention to the interior of the Stunt Double. The old, crusty junk hits the floor and our Fall Guy inspired build gets a new look: from painting trim and door panels, to a new bench seat. Man o' man, this truck is starting to look completely different. A shower of sparks lights up the garage as Stacey demonstrates how to make a bracket that mounts our new bench seat to the truck while using the stock seat adjustment. When you're putting together a project that's inspired by a high-flying stunt truck, you know you've got to add some lift, and our Stunt Double gets the goods this week. The front and rear suspension get treated to a 6" lift to get that rig up in the air. But a good lift won't do any good if the steering and frame can't hold up, so Stacey shows you how Offroad Design has fixed some serious issues that many late model four-wheel drives encounter. This episode of GEARZ, it's all about Cougars! No, not that kind of Cougar... the kind with 4 wheels and a legendary pedigree! After a short history lesson about how these cars came into existence and why they were so cool, Stacey rolls the V8 Interceptor back into the shop and digs into the final assembly of this wild '67 Mercury Cougar. If you're not familiar with this bird, it could fly mach 3.2, cruise at 80,000 feet and kept our country safe through its many reconnaissance missions. Never shot down, and never outrun, it was the hot rod of the sky! Stacey gets to sit down with pilot Lt. Col. Ed Yeilding and talk about his record setting transcontinental flight—Coast to Coast in 67 minutes and 54 seconds! The iconic Blackbird was such an inspiration that you know Stacey had to make a vehicle inspired by and paying tribute to it, so get ready to meet the SR-71 Rapid Tool Express!

The Catalog Camaro is back in the garage and ready to go under the knife as Stacey shows how to do a butt lift and tummy tuck on a 2nd generation Camaro. What does that mean? Well, last season Stacey performed a nose job on this old '81 Camaro to show how easy it is to get rid of the 80's plastic front bumpers and put on the classic early 70's split-bumper, rally sport front sheetmetal. This week he continues the makeover by losing the plastic rear bumper and wrap-around taillights and grafting in the early 70's quarter panels, round taillights and chrome bumper. It's more in depth than the front and definitely requires some skilled metal surgery, but Stacey shows you all the tricks on how to do it properly. tacey rolls in a Big Bad Buick Riviera, and shows you what is possible with the right vehicle and some bolt on parts. This 1972 Riviera is a great entry-level project that won't break the bank, and has the potential to serve some serious humble-pie to any unsuspecting hot shot that may want to mix it up at the stoplight. As it sits, the big 455 under the hood is a force to be reckoned with, but Stacey shows what a weekend in the garage and a top end rebuild can do for a car like this! The SR-71 Rapid Tool Express returns as Stacey digs into his old '59 ford panel truck and shows how to convert it into a one-off tool delivery truck to show off a variety of Cornwell tools. From special shelves, lighting and floor, there are even a few surprises that are tucked away inside this rolling tool cart! Moving to the cab of the vehicle, Stacey addresses some of the issues people have when setting up seats and steering, and shows some simple tricks that make a huge difference in getting your seats and steering dialed in. The Jeep may be the single most modified vehicle out there. From winches to lights, doors and fenders, if you've got a Jeep, it probably has some accessories on it. But despite all that, one of the best things about a Jeep is the removable top. It also sparks one of the biggest debates... What is best: a soft top or a hard top? Stacey takes on the challenge by comparing a factory hard top with the new Bestop Trektop. There's nothing like a good mystery. One of our favorite GearZ mysteries is the whereabouts of Copperhead, the legendary C10 that Stacey built more than a decade ago. It seemed like the truck just disappeared. Well, it's back! And Stacey was reunited with it at the C10 Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX. As the SR71 Rapid Tool Express nears completion there are a couple of major things left on the plate before we can fire her up and get her down the road. First, every aircraft must have fins, and Stacey finally finds the fins he's been looking for since the beginning of this build. Second, a cool logo design shows up at the shop. Third, what's a stealthy tribute vehicle without stealthy paint? Believe it or not, Stacey's got some paint that should keep the SR71 flying under the radar. Stacey is going to tell you all about what it took to get this beautiful beast back in the Gearz garage. There is no better way to wrap up this season of Gearz than to put a wrap on our Search and Rescue Gladiator build. Over 13 episodes, 13 modifications were made to this Jeep to turn it into something ANY outdoors person would love, and Stacey takes us through the build one last time before we let this Gladiator leave the garage. But with every project that leaves, a new one finds its way in and a ‘73 Ford F250 holds plenty of promise as Stacey introduces the newest build… Blue Steel!

After that, he walks through budget and how to decide what level of project you need to do. Sometimes the biggest hurdle on a project is fixing someone else's fixes! Stacey takes on old '77 Jeep CJ5 and starts correcting some issues by dumping the old sagging suspension and replacing it with a new 4" lift and some new wheels and tires.

There's nothing more comfortable than an old pair of Levi's, unless it's an old Jeep. Stacey shows how easy it is to update a classic, without losing the classic feel of the vehicle.

The Stunt Double is back and getting some finishing touches on the interior. Stacey shows you how to assemble the doors with new glass, window regulators and all the other hardware that a solid door requires.

Stacey takes a trip to the ‘Days Gone By' Museum located just outside of Nashville. This place is awesome! From horse drawn carriages, to a DC3, to an enormous collection of tractors… so much of America's manufacturing history is under one roof. It's a wild ride through decades of mechanical achievements and a lesson to the younger generation of gearheads as to what the American spirit is capable of! There's also a working garage where the owner specializes in building hot rods and the restoration of the vehicles you find in the museum. Speaking of restoration work, Stacey shares some tips on wiring that will help keep you sane when it comes time to rewire your project vehicle.
