Apple TV Unveils “Star City,” New Space‑Race Drama Expands “For All Mankind” Universe

Apple TV announced today that its latest original series, Star City, will launch globally on May 29 2026. Created by award‑winning storytellers Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert and Ronald D. Moore, the eight‑episode alt‑history drama continues the “For All Mankind” saga by exploring the Soviet side of the space race after the USSR becomes the first nation to land a man on the Moon.

The series takes a “propulsive, paranoid thriller” approach, delving into the lives of cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers embedded within the Soviet program. It promises a gritty, behind‑the‑Iron‑Curtain perspective on humanity’s push into space.

Star City boasts a star‑studded cast that includes Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Agnes O’Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara. Showrunners Nedivi and Wolpert also serve as executive producers alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, with Andrew Chambliss, Steve Oster and Sony Pictures Television co‑producing.

The series will debut with two episodes on Friday, May 29, and roll out one new episode each Friday through July 10.

Star City adds to Apple TV’s growing roster of original hits, joining titles such as “The Studio”, “Ted Lasso”, “Severance”, and the award‑winning “Pluribus”. The series will be available exclusively on Apple TV starting May 29
